Track Meet Rundown: Apr. 18-19

Area track meets marked the second round of state qualifiers for UIL Track & FIeld participants. Many athletes from the Bryan and College Station area performed well, with numerous champions and second place finishers from every school. Here are the results:

UIL 5A District 19-20 Area Meet

  • Area Champions
    • Reid Foster - A&M Consolidated - Men’s pole vault
    • Ryan Stapp - College Station - Men’s 110m hurdles
    • Grant Fairchild - College Station - Men’s high jump
    • Aliyah Collins - College Station - Women’s 100m & 200m
    • Kevin Kindt - Rudder - Men’s shot put
  • Area 2nd Place Finishers
    • Josh Gonzales - A&M Consolidated - Men’s 800m
    • Ricardo Minns - A&M Consolidated - Men’s triple jump
    • Makenna Calliham - A&M Consolidated - Women’s pole vault
    • Malik Clarke - College Station - Men’s 400m
    • College Station - Men’s 4x200m
    • Nick Smith - Rudder - Men’s long jump
  • Notes:
    • Reid Foster and Kevin Kindt defended their District title at the Area meet
    • Aliyah Collins managed to win both the 100m and 200m as a freshman
    • Grant Fairchild’s last first place finish in the high jump came in College Station’s first meet of the year

    • Symoria Adkins - Bryan - Women’s 110m hurdles
    • Bryan - Women’s 4x200m

    • Rajer Gurode placed third in the 100m and 200m, as well as helping Bryan’s women 4x200m relay team place second
