With the end of the 2019 regular season under wraps, we sat down to talk to Coach Max Bergkamp from the St. Joseph’s Volleyball team. He continued to talk about the positive work this team has done since the beginning of the season and how well they improved game by game. We made sure to ask Coach Bergkamp if any of the players stood out to him this season. He mentioned two players who were very valuable in their roles to the team on and off the court. Those players are #20, Reghan Millhollon, senior captain and #4, Annie Marvin, who has cemented her role on the team. The most important words Coach Bergkamp used to describe these girls are: leadership and hustle.

Reghan Millhollon is 4th overall in Brazos Valley in digs, and top 25 in aces. Additionally, Reghan has played a variety of sports during her time such as basketball, soccer, and track and field. She has also earned numerous awards through her hard work and leadership. She received 1st team all-district and all-state nominations in every sport except soccer. She also received academic all-state in all 4 sports she plays. Additionally, she was the state runner up in the 100-meter dash last year and maintains the school record in the 100 and 4x100 meter-relay.

Annie Marvin is currently the top 25 in kills and digs; she is the leader in kills for St. Joseph’s. Marvin has additionally played softball, but the majority of her time is occupied with being a manager for winter sports. She also plays club volleyball with the Brazos Valley Juniors. Lastly, Marvin is a participant of the school’s Leadership Team, which provides guidance for retreats organized by the Junior High and other events.

Coach Bergkamp couldn’t have said anything better about these girls. He’s really proud of how the team, and these athletes, have improved throughout the year. Keep an eye on how the team continues to perform!
